** Stock posts its biggest intraday pct gain since July 22

 ** Specialty miner says following short-term delays in ash deliveries caused by storm conditions near Melbourne, completed operational start-up of Hazelwood North Demonstration Plant

** Adds co achieved production of magnesium oxide from the plant

** Nearly 7 mln shares change hands as of 0025 GMT, 2.4x the 30-day average volume

** Stock has risen 40% this year, including session gains
