May 30 (Reuters) - Britain's FTSE 100 .FTSE index is
seen opening flat on Tuesday, with futures FFIc1 up 0.01%.
* HOME REIT: UK housing provider Home REIT HOMEH.L said an
internal probe into alleged wrongdoings showed a lack of
transparency on the part of its investment adviser had hampered
the company's assessment of financial strength of tenant base.
* UNILEVER: Unilever Plc ULVR.L said CFO Graeme
Pitkethly would
retire
from the consumer goods giant by the end of May 2024.
* ASDA: British supermarket group Asda said it would
acquire
petrol station operator EG Group's UK and Ireland business
to create a company with combined revenues of nearly 30 billion
pounds ($38 billion).
* HOCHSCHILD: Hochschild Mining HOCM.L said CEO
Ignacio Bustamante will
step down
from his role in the precious metals mining company by
late-August.
* LENDINVEST: British non-bank lender LendInvest
LINV.L said it had
agreed
to sell a portfolio of buy-to-let mortgages to Chetwood
Financial for 243 million pounds ($306.69 million).
* HSBC: HSBC HSBA.L is set to announce next month that the
UK arm of Silicon Valley Bank will be renamed HSBC Innovation
Banking, Sky News reported on Monday.
* RETAILERS: The British government is looking at plans to
have retailers cap the prices of basic food items such as bread
and milk, the Telegraph reported.
* INFLATION: British shop price inflation picked up this
month to reach its highest rate since industry records began in
2005, although growth in food prices cooled slightly, a survey
showed on Tuesday.
* UK's FTSE 100 gained on Friday, with mining stocks in the
lead tracking higher metal prices, while global miner Rio Tinto
surged after a brokerage upgrade.
