** Lion Selection Group LSX.AX rises as much as 4.5% to A$0.82, highest since August 15

** Mining investment co sells stake in Erdene Resource Development ERD.TO for A$12.3 mln (~$8 mln)

** Proceeds to be used to pay fully-franked special dividend of 2 AU cents/share

** Co's total cost for Erdene stake was A$2.8 mln, with first investment made in 2012

** About 217,100 shares traded, 1.7x the 30-day avg

** YTD, LSX gains ~52% YTD
