Italy plans to collect around 4 billion euros next year from its banks and insurers through a package of measures contained in the 2026 budget, Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti said on Wednesday.

(*) European aerospace groups unveiled an initial deal on Thursday to pool their loss-making satellite manufacturing activities, combining forces after months of negotiations to counter the runaway growth of rivals led by Elon Musk's Starlink.
The keenly awaited deal between Airbus, Thales and Leonardo would create a new venture starting from 2027, subject to approval by European regulators who have resisted such moves in the past.

CEO Andrea Orcel is facing persistent requests from its board for detailed, frequent updates on his dealmaking strategy, according to a Reuters exclusive.
The Italian bank has invested in several rival financial institutions over the past year, but not yet landed any deals. Amid debate over the extent of Orcel's remit on mergers and acquisitions, one suggestion that has been floated internally is to appoint a general manager, four sources with knowledge of the matter told Reuters.
UniCredit abolished the GM role in 2019, although it named one for an interim period between CEOs in 2021.

The 597-million-euro budget for new subsidies for the purchase of electric cars was nearly exhausted on Wednesday, the first day they were made available, with 481 million euros' worth of demands approved, Italy's Environment Ministry said.

Italy's energy contractor said on Wednesday its third-quarter adjusted core profit rose 29% year-on-year as it pocketed new orders in Turkey and Guyana.
Adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation(EBITDA) came in at 437 million euros ($510 million), marginally beating an analyst consensus of 433 million euros compiled by LSEG.

The crypto giant has asked to take part in a capital increase, to avoid diluting its stake, and to have its own representative on the board, MF added.
