** Shares of Firetail Resources  FTL.AX  rise as much as
21.2% to A$0.120, hitting their highest level since Sept 26
    ** Stock last up 1%, sees best day since Nov 2, if current
gains hold
    ** Specialty miner says encouraging drilling assay results
received from its offshore Picha Copper Project in Peru
    ** More than 1.1 mln shares change hands, 6x compared with
the 30-day average volume of 191,495 shares
    ** Stock down 38.1% this year, as of last close
