Mapfre slips after nine-month net profit falls slightly short
BUZZ-Mapfre slips after nine-month net profit falls slightly short ** Shares in Mapfre MAP.MC fall nearly 3% after the Spanish insurer reported its nine-month results on Wednesday with a smaller-than-expected bottom line growth
** The group's net profit rose 11.5% year-on-year in the January-September period, but came in slightly below consensus estimates, brokerage Renta 4 says
** CheckPoint Partners notes that Mapfre's bottom line relies "more than desirable on financial capital gains" while technical pressure remains in Latin America
** The high valuation bar is demanding, CheckPoint Partners also says, adding, however, that the strong dividend and solvency metrics should cushion the stock market punishment
** Up to the previous session's close, shares were up 1.3% year-to-date
