Insurer Markel jumps on strategic review announcement

** Shares of insurer Markel Group  MKL.N  jump as much as
7.9%; last up 6.7% at $1,984.11
    ** MKL late Wednesday announced a business review of its
operations focused on the performance of its specialty insurance
business
    ** Move comes after activist investor JANA Partners pushed
for changes at the company
    ** Insurance is at the heart of what we do, and we're fully
committed to supporting areas within insurance that are
excelling while also addressing underperformance - MKL
    ** Co will also consider ways to simplify its structure as
part of the review
    ** MKL shares jumped 21.6% in 2024
