Insurer Markel rises after report activist Jana amasses stake

** Shares of specialty insurance provider Markel Group
 MKL.N  rise 1.1% to $1,775.76
    ** Activist investor Jana Partners has amassed a stake in
MKL and is pushing the company to explore a separation or sale
of its private investments business, Bloomberg News reports,
citing the firm's managing partner Scott Ostfeld
    ** Jana believes the entire company is an "attractive"
takeover target for larger insurers, the report says
    ** As of last close, MKL shares up 23.7% YTD
