Mattel appoints Amgen's Peter Griffith as CFO, succeeding Paul Ruh
Mattel appoints Amgen's Peter Griffith as CFO, succeeding Paul Ruh Oct 19 (Reuters) - Mattel MAT.O on Monday named Peter Griffith as its chief financial officer, succeeding Paul Ruh, at a time when the Barbie maker grapples with investor pressure to better monetize its intellectual property following the surprise departure of longtime CEO Ynon Kreiz.
Here are some details:
Griffith, who previously served as the CFO of Amgen AMGN.O, will take up the new role on Tuesday, Mattel said
Mattel added that Ruh, who has been the CFO for a little over a year, would serve in an advisory role through the end of the year
The toymaker named Conde Nast head Roger Lynch as its new CEO late last month after Kreiz stepped down to join Paramount Skydance as co-CEO
Following the CEO change, Mattel was urged to explore strategic alternatives, including a sale, merger or major asset divestiture, earlier this month by investor Ariel Investments
