** Shares of Medallion Metals  MM8.AX  rise as much as 5.8%
to A$0.055, marking its best day since Aug. 21
    ** Mineral exploration co says drill programs will begin at
its flagship Ravensthorpe gold project in Western Australia
    ** Around 750,000 shares traded, ~1.2x the 30-day avg
    ** Australia's mining sub-index  .AXMM , up as much as 2.8%,
is set for its best intraday gain since Dec. 15, 2023
    ** YTD, MM8 down 20%, while AXMM is also down nearly as much
(~21%), as of last close
