** Shares of Australia's Meteoric Resources  MEI.AX  jump as
much as 18% to A$0.230, their biggest intraday gain since April
20
    ** Stock of the rare-earths explorer at its highest level
since Aug 16
    ** MEI stock has more than tripled so far this year, up 268%
as of last close
    ** Co announces "remarkable" rare-earths minerals drill
results outside Caldeira resource in the Minas Gerais state of
Brazil
    ** Rare-earth elements are in high demand because of their
applications in electronics manufacturing and batteries
