Metir plc
("Metir", the "Group" or the "Company")
Appointment of Three New Distributors
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain, Malaysia and Senegal
Metir plc (AIM: MET), the international provider of advanced water and
environmental monitoring technologies, is pleased to announce the appointment
of three new international distributors through its Modern Water subsidiary.
In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia ("KSA") and Bahrain, Ali Salman Al Sinan has
been appointed as an authorised distributor, further expanding the Group's
presence in the Middle East Gulf region. The distributor will initially supply
Modern Water's Microtox® LX and FX instruments.
The Middle East is an important region for water monitoring solutions, with
countries such as KSA and Bahrain relying heavily on seawater desalination to
meet water demand. Vision 2030 in KSA is a huge strategic programme,
transformative in the water sector, with projects approaching one trillion USD
in new water desalination, wastewater, and water recycling infrastructure. The
goal for KSA is to increase desalination output to 50% of water demand and,
eventually, to 90%, thereby reducing groundwater depletion.
In these environments, maintaining water quality and ensuring compliance with
regulatory standards is critical across sectors, including municipal water,
oil and gas, and industrial operations. Metir already has an established
presence in the wider region, with Continuous Toxicity Monitoring ("CTM")
units installed across multiple sites in Doha, Qatar.
Ali Salman Al Sinan, established in 2011, brings strong regional expertise,
established customer relationships and a track record of delivering technical
solutions in demanding operating environments. The company has extensive
experience supporting clients across key sectors, including oil and gas, where
monitoring requirements are often complex. In addition to supplying equipment,
it provides technical consultancy, application support and after-sales service
to support effective implementation and ongoing system performance.
In Malaysia, Greenson Technology Sdn. Bhd ("Greenson") has been appointed as
an authorised distributor for Microtox® products in Malaysia, Indonesia and
Brunei. Greenson, in addition to being a distributor of water-related
technologies, is a well-established service provider for in-field water
testing with real-time water quality data and intelligence. The appointment of
Greenson will significantly expand Modern Water's presence in Asia.
In Senegal, West Africa, SENTECH has been appointed as an authorised
distributor for Microtox® products. In Senegal, climate change has greatly
increased water stress due to reduced groundwater availability and rising
demand. The country is embarking on the "Great Water Transfer Project", which
is expected to be completed in 2028, backed by over €250 million in World
Bank and European Investment Bank funding. SENTECH is a leader in sensor and
monitoring, and the design of sustainable drinking water systems,
complementary with Microtox® technology.
In addition, the Group is in negotiations and close to appointing distributors
in both the United Arab Emirates and Egypt, to supply Modern Water's
Microtox® LX and FX instruments, further expanding its Middle East and North
Africa regional footprint and creating additional channels for future
commercial growth.
Bob Moore, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Metir plc,
commented:
"We are delighted with the progress of appointing three high-quality new
authorised distributors in diverse growth regions for the Group, with more to
come. Appointing Ali Salman Al Sinan as our authorised distributor in KSA and
Bahrain marks an important step in expanding our presence in the Middle East
Gulf region. Completing the appointment of authorised distributors in the
United Arab Emirates and Egypt will further strengthen our footprint and
pipeline of opportunities.
In addition, we are pleased with the appointment of Greenson for Malaysia,
Indonesia, and Brunei, and SENTECH for Senegal as new authorised distributors.
These appointments represent a breakthrough in two new regions with
significant growth potential for the Group.
Starting with sales of Microtox® LX and FX units initially in these new
distributor regions, we plan to market the supply of CTM units for regional,
civil and industrial projects in due course.
We believe these developments position us well to support customers across key
sectors, including desalination, oil and gas, and municipal water, and will
support the Group's continued expansion in the Middle East, North and West
Africa and Asia regions."
