Heavyweight technology stocks led a broad sell-off on Wall Street on Thursday after President Donald Trump's sweeping tariffs on major trade partners ignited fears of an all-out trade war and raised the risk of a global economic recession. .N

At 11:30 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average .DJI was down 3.42% at 40,782.20. The S&P 500 .SPX was down 4.11% at 5,438.06 and the Nasdaq Composite .IXIC was down 5.27% at 16,672.62.
