** On Wednesday, PPLI withdrew its bid to acquire MGM Resorts
** People Inc declined to comment, while MGM did not immediately respond to Reuters' request for comment
** MGM shares marginally up in after-hours trading
** As of last close, PPLI down 8.1% YTD
