** Shares of mineral explorer DiscovEx Resources  DCX.AX 
rise as much as 25% to A$0.005 - set for best session since May
9, if gains hold      
    ** Midas Minerals  MM1.AX  says it exercised an option to
buy the Newington lithium-gold project in Western Australia from

    ** Says purchase follows lithium-rich pegmatite find in 
project, expects to commence drilling in two months
    ** Midas shares gain as much as 5.4% to A$0.195
    ** DiscovEx stock down about 68% this year, as of last close
