** Shares of Australia's Midas Minerals Ltd  MM1.AX  jump as
much as 25.6% to A$0.245, set for its best day since Dec. 22
    ** Mineral explorer says it is going to acquire the
Greenbush Lithium project in Canada
    ** Co says the project's spodumene pegmatite outcropping has
"highly encouraging" size, mineralogy and grade
    ** Stock down 2.5% this year, as of last close
