** Shares of Australia's Mithril Resources  MTH.AX  rise as
much as 29% to A$0.2, marking their biggest intraday pct gain
since May 22
    ** Stock hits its highest level since June 13
    ** Diversified metals explorer says got commitments for
capital raising of A$3.7 mln ($2.47 mln) 
    ** Placement at an issue price of A$0.2 per share,
representing a premium of 29% to stock's last close
    ** Proceeds will be used to extend and accelerate drilling
at the Copalquin gold-silver project in Mexico - MTH
    ** Nearly 1.1 mln shares change hands by 0345 GMT, vs 30-day
average volume of 691,075 shares
    ** Stock down 22.5% YTD, as of last close
