Japan's SMFG records 1.5% rise in Q1 profit
TOKYO, July 31 (Reuters) - Mitsui Sumitomo Financial Group 8316.T booked a 1.5% rise in net profit in the first quarter, it said on Thursday. Japan's second-largest banking group recorded net profit of 376.9 billion yen ($2.53 billion) in the April-June quarter, as compared to 371.4 billion yen in the same period a year prior.
