Moneta Money Bank lifts profit forecast but opts against extra dividend
Moneta Money Bank lifts profit forecast but opts against extra dividend PRAGUE, Oct 23 (Reuters) - Czech lender Moneta Money Bank MONET.PR raised its profit outlook for 2026 on Friday after posting a 20% year-on-year rise in third-quarter earnings, but said it was opting against paying out an extraordinary dividend that the market had anticipated.
The bank, whose three main shareholders are Czech investment groups, has made an extraordinary dividend payment, alongside its regular dividend, in the previous two years
It said in its third-quarter report that it would not pursue a extra payout this year
"This decision reflects the current operating environment, which remains influenced by geopolitical uncertainty and renewed inflationary pressures," Moneta Chairman Tomas Spurny said. "We therefore aim to preserve strong capital and liquidity positions"
Moneta said it expected its full-year net profit to rise to 7.1 billion crowns ($327.97 million), from 6.6 billion expected in initial guidance and 6.5 billion posted in 2025
The lender added that it continued to accrue 90% of current net earnings for future dividend distribution
On a quarterly basis, net profit rose 20% to 2.18 billion crowns, above a Reuters poll forecast of 1.95 billion crowns
Net banking income was a touch higher than expected in the quarter, at 3.94 billion crowns, while loan provisioning was much lower than expected at 74 million crowns
($1 = 21.6480 Czech crowns)
