Czech central bank leaves countercyclical buffer rate unchanged

PRAGUE, Sept 12 (Reuters) - The Czech National Bank
(CNB) said on Thursday the board decided to leave the
countercyclical capital buffer rate applied to banks steady at
1.25% after two previous cuts this year.
    "This was prompted above all by an assessment of cyclical
risks, which remain stable even as the Czech economy gradually
shifts to the start of the expansionary phase of the financial
cycle," the CNB said in a statement after a meeting on financial
stability.
    The bank had reduced the buffer rate by 50 basis points at
its last meeting on financial stability in June.
