** Nickel Industries NIC.AX rises as much as 3.3% to A$0.795, highest since February 21

** Nickel producer says Excelsior Nickel Cobalt (ENC) project in Indonesia will be ready for staged commissioning, such as testing and starting parts of plant, by end of July

** Co building high-pressure acid leach smelter, integrated nickel refinery under the ENC project

** Around 11.5 mln shares traded, ~2x the 30-day avg

** NIC last up 1.6%, trims YTD losses to 5.2%
