Nintendo sees its latest Switch 2 console as being more popular than it first thought. The Japanese gaming giant raised its sales forecast Tuesday for the device to 19 million units for the financial year. That's up from the 15 million units it had projected. Nintendo also raised its full-year operating profit forecast by 16% to $2.45 billion. Investors have weighed the likely strength of sales momentum for the Switch 2 since its launch in June. It went on sale during US President Donald Trump's trade war, which tested Nintendo's supply chain management. Nintendo sold 10.3 million Switch 2 units by September end. It was helped by titles like "Mario Kart World" and "Donkey Kong Bananza". Looking ahead, Nintendo said the upcoming holiday shopping season will be a key proving ground for Switch 2 sales. The company's shares are up 40% year-to-date.
