OCI rises following unsolicited cash offer
BUZZ-OCI rises following unsolicited cash offer ** Shares in OCI OCI.AS rise 6% after the Dutch fertiliser and methanol producer confirmed it had received an unsolicited voluntary cash offer from NNS
** The offer of €4.10 per share represents a 9% premium to Wednesday's closing price of OCI shares
** Degroof Petercam sees the offer "as a way out of the impasse" for minority shareholders who don't want to be part of the Orascom deal
** In January, a Dutch court blocked a vote on the proposed merger between OCI and Egypt's Orascom Construction ORAS.CA after some shareholders said the transaction undervalued OCI, lacked strategic rationale and involved a conflict of interest, with both companies having the Egyptian Sawiris family as their major shareholder
** ING notes, however, that the offer is at a 28% discount to OCI's implied NAV of €5.70 per share, adding that it may not be enough to convince minority shareholders
