    The world's biggest food group is expected to post a
slowdown in organic growth in the second quarter, likely
providing fresh ammunition to activist investor Third Point.

    * Chief Executive Severin Schwan, beset by patent expiries
on the Swiss pharma company's top-selling medicines, gives an
update on first-half results, including sales of new medicines
that he's counting on to help the company continue to grow even
as competition from copies intensifes.
    * Genentech unveiled positive phase II results for the
first-ever eye implant to achieve sustained delivery of a
biologic medicine to treat people with wet age-related macular
degeneration.

    The Swiss building materials company reported a
better-than-expected profit for the first half of the year on
Thursday, the first set of results since it settled its
