The Dow hit a record high in Wall Street's upbeat trading on Monday, on a
greater chance of presidential candidate Donald Trump winning a second term
after surviving an assassination attempt, while interest-rate cut hopes also
aided sentiment.  .N 
    
    At 11:48 ET, the Dow Jones Industrial Average  .DJI  was up 0.83% at
40,331.79. The S&P 500  .SPX  was up 0.70% at 5,654.77 and the Nasdaq Composite
 .IXIC  was up 0.84% at 18,553.124.
