Turkish funds set for liquidation have 353,000 investors, source says ISTANBUL, Sept 17 (Reuters) - The 130 investment funds announced for liquidation by Turkey's Capital Markets Board have a total of 353,000 investors and a combined portfolio size of 891 billion lira ($21.4 billion), a source with direct knowledge of the matter said on Thursday.
Turkish authorities took steps to preserve financial stability on Thursday after a small number of funds struggled to meet client withdrawals amid a stock market selloff earlier in the week.
The central bank boosted repo funding to 300 billion lira and increased banks' borrowing limits in the interbank money market tenfold to ensure lira liquidity.
