ECONOMY
Rome is working closely with the European Commission to press the United States to reconsider an additional anti-dumping tariff on pasta imports which would effectively double their price, the Italian foreign ministry said.
COMPANIES
BANCA MONTE DEI PASCHI DI SIENA (MPS) BMPS.MI, MEDIOBANCA MDBI.MI, BANCO BPM BAMI.MI
The Economy Ministry held a 4.9% stake in the Tuscan bank after its bid for Mediobanca ended on September 29, a filing by Italy's market watchdog showed on Friday. The Del Vecchio family and billionaire Francesco Caltagirone held respectively 17.5% and 10.3% in the state-bank lender, the same filing showed.
After an initial meeting in Siena last week between the managers of the two banks, a new one is scheduled for Wednesday in Milan, to discuss the reorganisation of the business of the lenders, Corriere della Sera reported on Sunday.
The plan is to integrate Mediobanca's "industrialised" activities, such as Compass' consumer credit and Premier asset management, with those of MPS, with the aim of expanding abroad, the report added. In addition, the idea is to double the value of Mediobanca's private banking assets, currently worth about 31 billion euros, Corriere della Sera added.

The three largest shareholders in MPS, which in turn holds a 13% stake in Generali, aim to renew the newly-formed board of the insurer, Corriere della Sera's L'Economia supplement on Monday reported, adding, however, that CEO Philippe Donnet and Chairman Andrea Sironi have no intention of resigning.
ANIMA ANIM.MI
The asset manager said on Friday Chief Executive and Director General Alessandro Melzi d'Eril was stepping down. The top manager has been proposed as the new CEO of Mediobanca by Monte dei Paschi.
Pierluigi Giverso, Anima's joint general manager and chief business officer, would be "the most natural" choice as new CEO, Corriere della Sera reported on Saturday.
The fund manager is scheduled to hold a board meeting on Monday.
STELLANTIS STLAM.MI
The French-Italian-American automaker is planning to invest about $10 billion in the United States, Bloomberg News reported on Saturday, citing people familiar with the situation.
"As part of the preparations for the Company's strategy update and Capital Markets Day next year, the CEO is leading a thorough evaluation of all future investments. This process is ongoing," a Stellantis spokesperson said in a statement to Reuters. The spokesperson did not elaborate.

The North African branch of the Italian energy company has resumed its exploration drilling in an offshore area northwest of Libya after a five-year hiatus, the Libyan state-run National Oil Corporation (NOC) said on Sunday.

JP Morgan held a 5.05% stake in the energy contractor as of September 30, of which 0.4% with voting rights, a market watchdog filing showed on Friday.

The renewable energy company will lift its installed capacity to 4.2 GW in 2026 from 3.8 GW at end-2024, backed by about 1 billion euros of investments, chairman Edoardo Garrone told Corriere della Sera's L'Economia Monday supplement. He confirmed the company's 2025 guidance of a core profit of 540–600 million euros and a net debt of 1.85–1.95 billion euros.

The Italian defence group is targeting higher helicopter sales as "It is a market that we see growing, both on the civilian and military sides. It is a favourable situation that we are trying to exploit as best as we can," Gian Piero Cutillo, managing director of the group's helicopter business, was quoted as saying by Milano Finanza on Saturday.
M&A, TELEPASS
Swiss fund Partners Group PGHN.S is ready to sell its 49% stake in motorway and parking services group Telepass, with EQT EQTAB.ST, Brookfield BN.TO and Advent among potential buyers, Corriere della Sera daily reported on Saturday.

Lazio drew 3-3 at home with Torino on Saturday.
JUVENTUS JUVE.MI
AC Milan's Christian Pulisic missed a penalty and his side had to settle for a 0-0 draw away to Juventus on Sunday, denying the visitors a return to the top of the Serie A standings.
