** Shares of Patagonia Lithium  PL3.AX  rise as much as 12%
to A$0.14, their biggest intraday gain since Feb. 23
    ** Stock posts its highest level since March 12
    ** The mineral explorer posts completion of first hole at
its Formentera lithium project in Argentina
    ** Says assay results are expected in about two weeks
    ** About 142,572 shares change hands, compared with the
30-day average volume of 28,419 shares
    ** Stock down 3.9% this year as of last close
