** Shares of Power Minerals Ltd  PNN.AX  rise as much as
14.6% to A$0.55 - set for best day since Nov. 23, if gains hold
    ** Diversified minerals explorer says drilling confirms
discovery of new rare earth element (REE) at its Eyre Peninsula
Kaolin Project in South Australia 
    ** Says also intersected "thick zones of elevated REE" from
drills west of Cungena and in the southwest of the Eyre
Peninsula
    ** PNN hits its highest level since Dec. 13
    ** Stock is up 21.5% this year, as of last close
