Prada execs say China remains very tough despite improvement
Prada execs say China remains very tough despite improvement MILAN, July 30 (Reuters) - Healthy Chinese spending in the second quarter is the result of wide-ranging efforts by Prada 1913.HK to pamper clients, top executives at the Milanese fashion group told analysts, adding the situation in the country remained very challenging.
"China is the least readable market today ... very dependent on events, activities, holidays, moments of tourism ... but ... it's the market where Prada has the biggest opportunity in market share gain," CEO Andrea Guerra said.
Guerra said Prada was "doing its homework" in China, by engaging with clients in many ways, for example thanks to its Mi Shang cafe in Shanghai or an apartment it has to host top clients.
