The US economy in focus but we begin with earnings from Merck before the market
opens. The Dow Component is the second biggest US drug maker. Analysts
predicting a relatively flat second quarter - declining sales of older drugs
seen offsetting growing demand for its new KEYTRUDA treatment for melanoma and
lung cancer. Shares are roughly flat over the past year, though investors are
getting a 3% dividend. Next: two more Dow components report before the market
opens, ExxonMobil and Chevron. Let's start with Exxon.

The company is expanding its gas operations this month by announcing a $2.5
billion purchase of InterOil which owns gas fields that serve Asian customers.
That will help Exxon rely less on oil which is subject to volatile pricing. That
stock is up about 10% over the past year and it pays a 3% dividend. Chevron has
pared about as well; its dividend is north of 4%. And your number one story: an
expected boost to US economic growth. The advance reading of second quarter GDP
comes out. Forecasters in the Reuters Poll predicting a gain of 2.6%, up from
the 1.1% posted in the first three months of the year. Now, that would mean
growth in the first half of 2016 of just 1.8%. I'm Leah Duncan. This is Reuters
