** Shares of Australia-based mineral explorer QX Resources
 QXR.AX  surge as much as 61.9% to A$0.034 
    ** Stock set for biggest single-day pct gain since Jan. 28
    ** Stock hits highest since April 16, 2018 
    ** QXR says it has exercised its option to acquire the
Turner River lithium project in the Pilbara region of Western

    ** Co had previously announced it had executed a binding
option agreement to acquire project site and conduct due
diligence on it  urn:newsml:reuters.com:*:nASXCyG32    
    ** About 157 mln shares have changed hands, many times the
30-day average of about 11.9 mln shares 
    ** QXR up 50% so far this year, as of Thursday's close
