** On Monday, the gold miner secured an A$5.6 billion ($3.90 billion) takeover bid from Genesis Minerals GMD.AX, which topped an existing offer from Regis Resources RRL.AX
** Offer was at a 15.7% premium to VAU's last close on Friday
** Shares up 3.3% in current session
** Stock down 10.7% YTD
