Shallow gold target at Plateau confirmed
Rockfire Resources plc (LON: ROCK), the gold and base metal exploration
company, is pleased to announce that soil sampling at the Plateau gold deposit
in Queensland, Australia, has returned strongly elevated gold results, which
outline a readily accessed and untested target at least 200 m long.
· This target is outside the area included in the +200,000 ounces of
JORC resource already drilled at Plateau
· Unusually high soil results up to 0.67 g/t gold and 2.3 g/t silver
have been returned
· The gold anomaly is undrilled and extends for over 200 m
· The soil anomaly is open along strike and extends beyond the limit of
the sampling grid
· Gold results are strongest at the edges of the intruded breccia pipe,
where the main gold resource at Plateau is also located
· 105 samples were collected, of which 41 samples were above 0.1 g/t Au
(1,000 ppm), representing 39% of the samples

JORC gold resources can be viewed via the following link.

David Price, Chief Executive Officer of Rockfire, commented,
"Rockfire has previously reported that the northern side of the breccia may
present a target based on high-grade gold-in-rock samples. These soil sampling
results are more coherent than expected and confirm the outline and extent of
near-surface gold on the north-eastern edge of the breccia.
"The magnitude of the results is pleasing and provides a clear target for
drilling. In addition to our on-going work in Greece, Rockfire intends to
drill the near-surface gold targets at Plateau to increase the JORC resources
already defined.
"We will continue to update the market with progress on our exploration across
the entire portfolio."
