UK commits £8.6 billion to Tempest under GCAP, Starmer says LONDON, June 30 (Reuters) - Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on Tuesday Britain would invest £8.6 billion in the Tempest sixth-generation stealth fighter programme under the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP), as well as purchase 12 F-35A fighter jets.
Setting out Britain's spending plans on defence, Starmer also said the government would boost funding for the nuclear deterrent to £64 billion.
