First gas-fired power plant tender oversubscribed, German regulator says DUESSELDORF, Sept 9 (Reuters) - A first tender for 4.5 gigawatts of gas-fired power plant capacity has been significantly oversubscribed, the country's energy regulator said on Wednesday, adding successful bidders would be announced by early November.
In order to safeguard security of supply in Europe's largest economy, Germany is tendering a total of 11 GW of capacity, with the current tender to be followed by additional rounds in December and in 2027.
