Brief: Ryanair CEO O'Leary still sees fares 'flat-ish' over summer, Business Post reports
BRIEF-Ryanair CEO O'Leary still sees fares 'flat-ish' over summer, Business Post reports June 20 (Reuters) - Ryanair RYA.I Group Chief Executive Michael O'Leary tells Ireland's Business Post newspaper:
"We think bookings, as we move into the summer peak, will probably get a little bit of stimulus from, and I would say this is inverted commas, 'the peace plan between Iran and the US', but spot oil prices have fallen significantly," he said.
“We certainly don't see prices rising this summer into the peak. I'm not sure prices will fall, certainly volumes are good, but the pricing seems to be flat-ish on last year," he said.
"We're well hedged out to March next year, which is still nine months away, we're not under any great pressure to do any hedging into May, June, July of next year. But, if prices got down into the low $80s or below $80 a barrel, we'd certainly consider starting hedging for summer '27."
