Portuguese cabin crew union to join June 3 national strike (updated)

Adds Ryanair comment, TAP no comment, changes story format

LISBON, May 19 (Reuters) - Members of Portuguese cabin crew union SNPVAC have voted to join a June 3 nationwide strike that could disrupt flights operated by airlines including TAP, Ryanair RYA.I and EasyJet EZJ.L, a union spokesperson said on Tuesday.

A Ryanair spokesperson said the company did not expect any disruption and will operate as normal.

TAP declined to comment.

The general strike was called by Portugal's largest umbrella union, CGTP, in protest against the government's labour reforms.

SNPVAC called the proposed overhaul an "unprecedented attack on established right" by the government.

Among other measures, the reform would make it easier for companies to dismiss employees and would lift limits on outsourcing.

TAP is the largest airline with a base in Portugal, usually operating about 300 flights a day.

It is followed by Ryanair and easyJet, then smaller carriers such as Azores Airlines.
