** Shares of S2 Resources Ltd  S2R.AX  climb as much as
96.4% to A$0.165, on track for their sharpest intraday pct. gain
since April 7, 2005
    ** The mineral explorer says its unit has won a tender for
Block 4 in North Central Victorian Goldfields Ground

    ** Says award gives S2R the sole right to apply for an
exploration licence over "the most prospective and highly
contested" gold ground 
    ** Stock hits its highest since Aug. 5
    ** At 16.4 mln, volumes are 43.8 times the 30-day average of

    ** As of last close, stock down 35.4% this year
