WASHINGTON, April 16 (Reuters) - IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva on Thursday urged policymakers to pay close attention to the consequences of rapid advances in artificial intelligence technology, warning against forgetting those who would lose their jobs as a result.
"What turned the world against globalization was disregarding the fact that communities whose jobs evaporated were never reintegrated in the economy," Georgieva said during the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank in Washington. "In this world of the AI revolution, do not allow this to be repeated."
