** Local shares of Capstone Copper CSC.AX CS.TO rise as much as 2.9% to A$12.77, its biggest intraday pct gain since Oct 14

** Shares of Sandfire Resources SFR.AX rise as much as 3%

** Local mining sub-index .AXMM up 0.3% meanwhile
