Italy's Seco reports profit surge as shift toward edge-AI pays off

March 23 (Reuters) - Italian technology company Seco IOT.MI reported a more than ninefold jump in its 2025 adjusted profit to 13.1 million euros ($15.1 million) on Monday, driven by its software and services units as it accelerates a shift toward edge-AI and full-solution offerings.

The embedded computing firm, which specializes in the miniaturization of computers and the Internet of Things (IoT), saw a rebound in orders, stronger sales volumes in the U.S. and Asia, and general business volume expansion last year.

Expects revenue above 49 million euros in the first quarter of 2026

Flags a record monthly order intake in February

Shares turned positive after the report; up around 8% at 1200 GMT

2025 adjusted core profit was 40.2 million euros, 20% of net sales of 197.6 million

($1 = 0.8658 euros)
