The following factors could affect Italian markets on Monday.

    POLITICS
    Italy's right-wing bloc is on track to win a clear majority
in both houses of parliament at this month's election, according
to studies based on the final opinion polls before a ban on

    ECONOMY
    ISTAT releases July industrial output data (0800 GMT) and
bulletin on the state of the economy for August (0900 GMT).
    OECD releases August composite leading indicator data (1000
GMT).

    BANCA MONTE DEI PASCHI DI SIENA (MPS)  BMPS.MI 
    Italian asset manager Anima  ANIM.MI  is open to helping the
Tuscan lender raise 2.5 billion euros in capital but there are
no talks on the matter at present, two sources with knowledge of
the matter said. Anima could contribute 150-250 million euros
depending on how the terms of its partnership with Monte dei
Paschi would be revised, one the sources said.
    The top economic adviser to Giorgia Meloni, the front-runner
to become Italy's next prime minister, told Bloomberg the
state-owned bank should delay its plans to raise capital until a

    Tne Italian energy company said on Friday that it would
receive only part of the gas it had requested from Russian
supplier Gazprom  GAZP.MM  for Sept. 10 and that the situation

    Italy's market watchdog reopened the review period of the
offer document relating to the voluntary tender bid launched by
DeVa Finance on the luxury shoemaker, the Della Valle family's

    BPER BANCA  EMII.MI , BANCA CARIGE  CRGI.MI 
    After the sell-out process, BPER owns around 96% of Banca
Carige and will press on with the final phase of its takeover
