** Shares of Sky Metals Ltd SKY.AX fall as much as 9.1% to
A$0.050; set for their worst day since Feb. 28, if trend holds
** Minerals explorer says it has received firm commitments
to raise A$3.5 mln ($2.37 mln) via a share placement
** Issue price of A$0.045 cents per share represents a 18.2%
discount to stock's last close on May 15
** Stock up ~15% YTD, as of last close
