Europe's green energy stocks slide as Trump victory chances grow after shooting

** Shares in European renewable energy companies slide, with
traders pointing to increased odds of former President Donald
Trump winning a second term after the assassination attempt on
Saturday
** Trump said in May he would halt offshore wind development
if he was re-elected, according to a media report
** While offshore projects under construction are protected,
a Trump victory could be highly negative for the U.S. offshore
wind industry. Upcoming auctions by East Coast states could be
canceled or attract no bidders. Additionally, developers might
withdraw from auctions with pending results - Morningstar
analyst
** Orsted ORSTED.CO , RWE RWEG.DE , Nordex NDXG.DE ,
Vestas VWS.CO , Siemens Energy ENR1n.DE , SMA Solar S92G.DE
and EDP Renovaveis EDPR.LS down between 3% and 5% in afternoon
trading
