UK's Smart Metering Systems jumps on agreeing to $1.63 bln takeover offer

** Shares in Smart Metering Systems SMSS.L rise 42.2% to
958p, top gainer across all London shares
** The energy Infrastructure firm agrees to be acquired by
co owned by funds advised by KKR KKR.N and its affiliates for
1.3 bln pounds ($1.63 bln) in cash
** 955 pence per share offer at premium of 40.4% to last
close of SMSS
** Shares touch highest since August 2022
** Up to last close, SMSS stock had fallen ~13% so far this
year
