New Chief Financial Officer Transition

Notice of Full Year Results

 

Smiths News (LSE: SNWS), the UK's largest news wholesaler and a leading
provider of early morning end-to-end supply chain solutions, confirms it will
announce its full year results for the 52-week period ended 30 August 2025 on
Tuesday, 4 November 2025 and provides an update on the Chief Financial Officer
transition.

 

Chief Financial Officer Transition

As previously announced, Richard Clay has been appointed as Chief Financial
Officer ("CFO") and the Company confirms he will join the business on 2
February 2026.

Paul Baker will be stepping down as an executive director and CFO to join a
large private business operating in a different sector, and his last day at
Smiths News will be 21 November 2025.

George Cooper, currently Group Financial Controller at the Company, will be
assuming the role of Interim Chief Financial Officer (a non-board appointment)
to cover the period between Paul's departure and Richard's arrival.

George joined Smiths News in 2017 and is a highly experienced finance
professional, having previously worked as a Finance Manager at Associated
British Foods plc, and spent over 13 years with EY working in the audit
division.

 

Analyst meeting

There will be a meeting for sell-side analysts at 9.30am on Tuesday, 4
November 2025, hosted by Jon Bunting (CEO), Paul Baker (CFO) and George Cooper
