BUCHAREST, Aug 14 (Reuters) - Here are news stories, press

GDP DATA
The National Statistics Board will release flash second
quarter gross domestic product data ROGDPF=ECI at 0600 GMT.
COMPANY RESULTS
State-controlled natural gas producer Romgaz ROSNG.BX ,
power company Nuclearelectrica ROSNN.BX , power utility
Electrica ROEL.BX and gas grid operator Transgaz ROTGN.BX
will release second quarter financial results.
BOND TENDER
Romania's finance ministry sold a less than planned 90.7
million lei ($22.16 million) worth of Oct. 2021 treasury bonds
on Monday, at an average accepted yield of 4.25 percent, central

CENTRAL BANK MINUTES
Romanian central bank (BNR) board members unanimously
decided to keep the benchmark interest rate on hold at 2.50
percent at its August 6 meeting, bank minutes showed on Monday.
Policymakers have raised rates three times this year by a
total of 75 basis points to 2.50 percent and Governor Mugur
Isarescu said earlier this month there was not much room left
for rates to go higher as inflation had started to fall.

CURRENT ACCOUNT
Romania's current account deficit widened by 7.2 percent on
the year to 3.78 billion euros ($4.30 billion) in the first

Hungary's forint fell one percent against the euro on Monday
as risk aversion in the wake of Turkey's currency crisis knocked
down Central Europe's main currencies to multi-week lows.
