MONEY SUPPLY
Romania's M3 money supply edged 0.3 percent higher on the
month in September, and rose 9.4 percent on the year.

DEBT TENDER
Romania sold a more than planned 593.8 million lei ($170.1
million) worth of Feb. 2025 treasury bonds on Thursday, with the
average accepted yield at 3.93 percent, central bank data

INTEREST RATES
Romanian interest rates may fall further, and the decision
on rates should rest on economic factors, not election
uncertainty, central bank deputy governor Bogdan Olteanu told

CEE MARKETS
Poland's zloty currency fell to its lowest in 15 months
against the dollar on Thursday, with weak Polish retail sales
data supporting the case for further rate cuts in central and

Regional currencies were stable against the euro, which
received a breather thanks to data showing euro zone business
growth picked up unexpectedly this month, with investors
focusing on a Federal Reserve meeting next week.
PRINCESS SENTENCED FOR COCKFIGHTING RING
A princess fifth in line for the Romanian throne and her
husband who admitted running a cockfighting ring in rural Oregon
have both sentenced to probation and ordered to forfeit $200,000
from the sale of the property, federal prosecutors said on

TRANSGAZ
Romania's leftist Prime Minister Victor ponta said on
Thursday the government could lower the state's participation in
gas pipeline operator Transgaz ROTGN.BX to a minority stake if
it needs private investors to develop its operations.
