Romanian Transgaz posts H1 net profit of 279.6 mln lei, down 69.8 pct y/y

Aug 14 (Reuters) - Romanian state-owned gas pipeline
operator Transgaz ROTGN.BX
* Says its net profit fell 69.8 percent on the year in the
first half of the year to 279.6 million lei ($68.64 million).
* Says its turnover fell 86 percent on the year to 883.5
million lei.
* Transgaz holds the monopoly in Romania in terms of natural
gas transmission and circulates approximately 90 percent of the
total natural gas consumed.
* Says the company's assets in bank accounts amounted to
512.2 million lei of which 64 percent were liquid assets
denominated in foreign currency, most of them in euros.
* Says EBITDA in total sales was 48.19 percent in the first
half against 55.2 percent in H1, 2017.
